STATIC MIXER INCLUDING A MIXING ELEMENTTechnical FieldPresent invention relates to a static mixer including a mixing element said mixing element comprising : a) an annular outer rim b) one or more wing elements attached to the outer rim, c) a flow breaker element attached to the outer rim, wherein the leading surface of the one or more wing element(s) har an angle ß1 in relation to the flow direction of 10 – 90 degrees and the leading surface of the wing elements are provided with recesses. Background ArtStatic mixers for mixing of liquid/gas, liquid/liquid or liquid/solids need an approximately steady flow of incoming liquid or liquid/gas to obtain a satisfactory mixing. Most static mixers have a relatively small operating range and if the incoming flow is too low or too high, the mixing will not be sufficient for the intended subsequent use or processing of the mixed materials. One problem with such static mixers, is that it is not possible to regulate the mixer to adapt to different flow rates and the type of materials to be mixed to obtain an adequate mixing. Further, static mixers with only one mixing element, can be vulnerable for clogging, which can be remedied by backflushing or replacement of the mixing element. One proposed solution to this problem with handling varying flow and mixer capacity is known from CN108325401. This publication described a gas-liquid mixer with capacity for quickly changing pipe diameter. The gas-liquid mixer comprises a tank, wherein the bottom of the tank is connected with a mixer, one end of the mixer is connected with a liquid inlet pipeline, and the other end is connected with a gas source through a gas inlet pipeline, a pipe diameter changing devise for adjusting gas volume is arranged on the gas inlet pipeline and comprises a cylinder, a rotating shaft capable of rotating the cylinder freely is arranged at the center of the cylinder, and two ends of the rotating shaft are fixed on a gas inlet pipeline through snap rings respectively. A plurality of gas guide holes with different diameters are formed in the cylinder in the axial direction, and internal threads for being connected with the gas inlet pipeline are arranged at the two ends of each of the as guided holes.WO2012095623A describes a static mixer assembly which is a cylindrical tube with three pairs of fins extending inwards from the inner wall of the tube. The central fins form a prow pointing upstream, with two pairs of flanking fins arranged to prevent unhindered fluid flow parallel to the central axis in a peripheral region.EP 0166 375 describes a valve assembly comprises for the purpose of noise reduction attenuator means comprised of portions of static elements, preferably mounted on the valve member, and preferably divided into sections of decreasing resistance in fluid flow direction. In one embodiment, the valve is a ball valve. One disadvantage with this prior art solution is that it is only to possible to regulate the gas flow, not the mixed flow of gas/liquid or liquid/liquid.A second problem with the prior art static mixers is clogging, fouling and accumulation of particles that will reduce the overall efficacy of the mixer over time.Summary of inventionThe purpose of present invention is to provide a solution that overcomes the above mentioned disadvantages with the prior art solutions. These and other purposes are achieved by a static mixer including a mixing element, said mixing element comprises:a) an annular outer rimb) one or more wing elements attached to the outer rim,c) a flow breaker element attached to the outer rim, wherein the leading surface of the one or more wing element has an angle ß1 in relation to the flow direction of 10 – 90 degrees and the leading surface of the wing elements are provided with recesses, wherein the static mixer is a ball valve, with a ball with two through-going openings, said through-going openings are provided 90 degrees to each other, that each opening is provided with a mixing element, said mixing element having different mixing characteristics, said ball can be rotated into two positions, one position where the mixing element with the lowest mixing capacity is facing an incoming flow to be mixed and a second position where the mixing element with relatively large mixing capacity is facing the incoming flow to be mixed. The mixing elements are preferably releasably attached to the ball.Preferably the mixing elements and the ball is provided as one unitary element. The mixing element and the ball are provided as one unitary element and is preferably made of steel, more preferred of stainless steel. In one embodiment, the mixing element and ball are preferably made by laser printing.According to another preferred embodiment, the mixing element is placed between two flanges.Brief description of drawingsFigures 1A-1F depicts some preferred embodiments of the mixing element (1) according to the invention, where Figs.1A and 1B depicts an embodiment of a mixing element (1) with five wing elements (2) and one flow-breaker element (3) for high flow and low flow, respectively, Fig.1C and 1D depicts an embodiments of a mixing element (1) with three wing elements (2) and one flow-breaker element (3) for high and low flow, respectively, and Figs.1E and 1F depicts an embodiment of a mixing element (1) with two wing elements (2) and one flowbreaker element (3) for high and low flow respectively.Figures 2A- 2F depicts a preferred embodiment of the wing element (2) according to present invention seen from different sides, where Fig.2A is seen from the bottom,Fig. 2B is seen from the front, Fig.2C is seen from left, Fig.2D is seen from above,Fig. 2E is seen from the back and Fig.2F is a perspective view.Figures 3A-3H depicts a preferred embodiment of the flow-breaker element (3) according to present invention, where Fig.3A shows the flow-breaker element seen from underneath, Fig.3B from the front, Fig.3C from left, 3D from the back, 3E from the top and Fig.3F is a perspective view. Figs.3G and 3H are isometric views of the flow-breaker element seen from the front and back, respectively.Figures 4A-4C depicts a static mixer in the form of a modified ball valve.Figures 5A-5C depicts another preferred embodiment of the a static mixer including a mixing element according to the invention. Detailed description of the inventionFigure 1A-1F depicts a mixing element (1) according to present invention. The mixing element (1) comprises two or more wing-elements (2) and a flow-breaker element (3). In the embodiments shown in Fig.1A-1F, the mixing element (1) has an annular outer rim (4) to which is attached one or more wing-elements (2) and the flow-breaker element (3). The wing-element (2) has a leading surface which is somewhat slanted in relation to the direction of the flow of materials to be mixed. The flow direction of the incoming materials to be mixed is perpendicular to the paper plane of in figure 1. In the shown embodiment, the angle ß1 is 10 - 90 degrees, angle ß2 is between 10 to 90 degrees and the angle ß3 is preferably degrees. However, the angel ß3 will vary depending on the number of wing elements (2).The purpose of the slanted wing element is to give the incoming flow of materials a rotational movement to enhance the mixing of materials. Further, the mixing element (1) comprises a flow-breaker element (3), the purpose of which is to interfere with the rotational movement of the flow and create turbulent conditions to improve the mixing of the materials. The flow breaker (3) is shown in more detail in Figs.3A to 3G, sowing a preferred embodiment of the flow breaker, where radius R1 can be 3,50 mm, radius R2 is 10-40% of the pipe inner diameter and centered in the pipe, R4 can be 11,50 mm, angle α1 is 10 – 30 degrees and angle α2 is 110 – 180 degrees. Further, the wing-elements (2) can be provided with recesses (10) on the front face to further improve the mixing effect. The open flow area of the mixing element (1) not covered by the wing elements (2) and the flow-breaker element (3), determines the maximum flow of materials through the mixing element (1). If this area is too small or too big, it will not be possible to obtain the desired mixing efficiency. The dimension of the open flow area, the number and size of the wing-elements (2) and the flow-breaker element (3) will have to be adapted to the flowrate through the mixing element (1), the nature of the materials to be mixed, and the allowable pressure drop over the mixing element (1).In order to provide mixing elements (1) fulfilling the requirements mentioned above, in order to achieve a sufficient mixing of the elements, it is possible to use mixing elements (1) with different open flow area, different number and dimensions of the wing elements (2). This is further detailed in figures 1A-1F, which show preferred embodiments of mixing elements (1) different numbers of wing elements (2) and dimensions of the open flow area.Typical examples of dimensions and embodiments of the mixing-element (1) are shown in table 1 beneath:Table 1Figures 2A-2F show further details of the wing element (2) and figures 3A-3G show further details of the flow-breaker element (3).Figures 4A-4C depicts an embodiment where the mixing elements according to present invention are installed in a modified ball (5) of a ball valve (6) (fig.4A). A normal ball valve(6) has one through-going aperture and only two operational states, namely one state where the through-going aperture is the oriented parallel to the flow direction, in which the valve will allow flow through the valve, and another state, where the aperture is oriented 90°to the flow direction and will close off the flow. Fig. 4B depicts an exploded view of the ball (5). Instead of a ball (5) for a ball valve (6) with only one through-going aperture, the ball (5) has been modified by providing two through going apertures (7, 8) arranged 90°to each other. In each of these two apertures, a mixing element (1) is installed. The mixing elements (1) have different dimensions and flow areas, for example one mixing element(1) for a high through put and one mixing element (1) for a low through put. In this embodiment, it is possible to adjust the mixing efficacy to either high flow or low flow, by simply turning the handle of the modified ball valve (6) 90 degrees. The mixing elements (1) can be permanently fixed to the ball (5) or can be interchangeable. If the efficacy of the mixing element is reduced by clogging or accumulation of particles, this can be remedied by turning the ball (5) 180° so that the incoming flow is passing through the mixing element (1) in a reverse direction with the regards to the normal flow. In this way, the incoming flow can clean the mixing element (1) and the mixing efficacy is restored. In one embodiment of the invention, the ball (5) and the mixing element (1) are made in one unitary body. The mixing element (1) can be made of steel, preferably stainless steel. In a preferred embodiment, the mixing element (1) can be made by laser printing. If it is necessary to change the mixing characteristics of the static mixer, the modified ball valve (6) can be disassembled and replaced by another ball (5) with the requisite mixing properties. In another preferred embodiment, the mixing elements (1) are releasably connected to the ball (5) by means of suitable fastening means. If it is necessary to change the mixing characteristics of this static mixer, the modified ball valve (6) can be dismantled and the existing mixing elements (1) can be released from the ball (5) and exchanged with mixing elements (1) with the requisite mixing properties.Fig. 5A-C depicts another preferred embodiment of a static mixer incorporating a mixing element (1) according to the invention. In this embodiment, the mixing element (1) can be mounted between two flanges (9). If it is necessary to exchange the mixing element (1) with another mixing element having different mixing characteristics, the flanges (9) are separated, the mixing element (1) is replaced with the requisite mixing element (1) and is placed between the flanges, whereinafter the flanges (9) are bolted together with the mixing element (1) interposed between the flanges.
