3491591TITLE: A UNIT, METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TRANSFER OF FISH FEEDTECHNICAL FIELDThe present invention relates to a mobile fish feed transfer unit and a method for 5 operating the mobile fish feed transfer unit. The present invention also relates to a fish feed transfer system.BACKGROUNDFish feed pellets for offshore fish farms are stored in silos on feeding barges. Fish farms may consist of 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or even 12 individual fish pens. The feeding 10 barge has a corresponding number of silos. There is one dedicated silo for each fish pen with its own distribution line. Fish pens may be emptied to slaughter fish when they have reached the desired weight or fish pens are emptied due to infection or disease of the fish. Silos may also have to be emptied to stabilize the feeding barge, or for other reasons. When a silo is emptied the remaining fish feed is usually 15 transferred to another silo for re-use in another fish pen.Silos are usually not interconnected. Moreover, it is difficult or impossible to extract the fish feed pellets from the bottom of a silo as there are already a number of fittings for other equipment or services, leaving little or no space for installation of further equipment.20 Therefore, dedicated offshore feeding supply vessels are used today to transfer fish feed from one silo to another. This can be a costly and time-consuming operation, and vessels may not always be available when needed. Furthermore, it also represents a large environmental cost as these vessels tend to consume considerable amounts of energy for powering auxiliary systems which are not needed for25 transferring fish feed. Moreover, using a vessel that has been in contact with other fish farms increases the risk of spreading diseases or infections from one fish farm to another.EP 3714687 A1 discloses a boat structure for feeding cages (10) of offshore fish farms, characterized in that it comprises a hull (2) and a collector and mooring buoy 30 (9); said hull (2) housing containers (3) for the storage of feed and a series of silos (4) arranged in correspondence with respective wells (5) formed in said hull and open at the bottom; said structure further comprising a feed suction system consisting of suction pipes (6) connected to said containers (3) and to said silos (4) through which the feed is sucked from the containers (3) and brought to the silos (4) 3491592by the action of a turbine assembly (7); said structure further comprising a feed supply system consisting of supply pipes (8) connected to each well (5) and to a submersible pump; said supply pipes (8) leading to said collector and mooring buoy (9) and departing from it to reach respective cages (10) to be supplied with said 5 feed; said turbine assembly (7) creating a vacuum inside said silos (4) and said feed being sucked by pneumatic floating from said containers (3) until it reaches said silos (4) above the wells (5); said feed being collected by said suction pipe (6) and conveyed into said silos (4) from where it descends by gravity into each well (5); said feed in said well (5), mixed with sea water, being sucked by said submersible 10 pump and, through said supply pipes (8), being introduced into each of said cages (10) in a rehydrated form.Hence there is a need for a new solution for moving fish feed pellets from one silo to another with increased availability and reduced cost and reduced risk of infection as well as lower energy consumption.15 SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention is directed to a solution that may solve or at least reduce at least one of the aforementioned problems or challenges. The invention is defined in the attached claims. It is described a mobile fish feed transfer unit for transferring fish feed pellets 20 between feed pellets silos on a feeding barge, wherein the feed pellets silo comprises a silo hatch, wherein the mobile fish feed transfer unit comprises:- a housing comprising a lifting interface for lifting equipment,- a pneumatic conveying system comprising a conveying gas supply and separation equipment,25 - a suction line comprising a first end, wherein the first end is connected to the separation equipment, wherein the separation equipment is configured to transfer fish feed pellets from the separation equipment and into one of the feed pellets silos, andwherein a second end of the suction line is configured to be inserted into the silo 30 hatch of a further of the feed pellets silos to convey fish feed pellets to the separation equipment. The mobile fish feed transfer unit may be configured to be selectively positioned over any one of the silo hatches,The feed pellets silo may be a receiving silo only while the mobile fish feed transfer 35 unit is positioned over the silo hatch of the feed pellets silo. 3491593The fish feed pellets may be transferred from the separation equipment into one of the feed pellets silos by gravity and their own weight. The pneumatic conveying system may be configured to be powered by electric or pneumatic energy provided by the feeding barge.5 The conveying gas supply may be a vacuum pneumatic system. The mobile fish feed transfer unit may be configured to be connected to the control system of the feeding barge. The conveying gas supply may be any of the following:a fan, side channel blower, a claw pump, other types of vacuum pumps, a venturi -10 or a coax-system.The conveying gas supply may be a vacuum pump and the separation equipment may be a cyclone may comprise a storage hopper and a storage hopper outlet port.
